In the 40 years since Jim and Melody Congdon came to Topeka Bible Church, their impact has been extraordinary. Nearly 2,000 Sunday sermons, hundreds of weddings, funerals and baby dedications, numerous counseling sessions and countless hours of laughter and love.

A celebration event was held Sunday, July 31, 2016, to look back over the past 40 years and to celebrate Jim and Melody's commitment to TBC, the Topeka community, and the world! Highlights included:

  • Morning services led by the Congdons' sons: Mark leading music worship and Doug and Craig sharing about how we as Christians can leave a lasting legacy.

  • Evening program with Mark Bucholtz as emcee, video tributes from friends and stories shared by friends and Congdon family members. Jim and Melody were presented with gifts including a photo mosaic made up of small images of TBC family members, a commemorative quilt, and a word cloud depicting the "one words" TBCers used to describe Jim.
