Outreach Branch

Outreach provides TBC women the opportunity to share Christ with others through a variety of women’s only events throughout the year.  These events afford the women of TBC the chance to invite friends, family, neighbors and co-workers to join in fellowship and to hear the message of God’s love and salvation.  The Outreach Branch also looks for opportunities to bring women together to share in a service project and/or mission trips locally and beyond our community. Stay tuned for more information on these exciting outreach opportunities and begin now praying for your neighbors, friends, co-workers, family members, teachers and coaches, who need to hear the saving message of Christ!
 
CAB Care Closet
CAB Care Closet headed by Jan Durbin, and her team, takes the gently used clothing donated by TBCers and makes it available free of charge to those in need in our church & community. CCC is open the first Saturday of each month.
 
GoGo
“Getting Our Groove On” is a new outreach this year. It will be held on September 19th at 7:00 pm. Chef Alli will help us and our guests put the sizzle in our kitchens and our marriage relationships. Learn more about Chef Alli at www.chefallis.com.
 
LOL
Laugh Out Loud is a comedy night held 2 evenings in December.  At LOL, you and your guests will laugh your way into the holidays. This event provides a great opportunity to share the Gospel message with family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers on a night filled with food, fun, laughter, and fellowship. This year's event will be December 12 and 13 and will feature comedian Kerry Pomarolli. You can check her out at www.kerrypom.com.

Where were you born? St. Louis MO
 
How did you end up in Topeka? I married a Topeka boy and moved here 37 years ago.  
 
How long have you attended TBC?  I started attending TBC in May of 1994.   Rosalie Wenger will correct me if I am wrong. 
 
Family: My husband is Kevin and we have two grown sons, Kevin Jr. and Scott.  They are both married wonderful girls- Emily and Jacquelyn- and live in Dallas and Omaha.  I am blessed that my parents are living in Topeka as well as one of my sisters; my other sister is in Indiana. 
 
How do you occupy your day? Now that I no longer teach or work in the office at Porterfield’s, I spend my time walking, reading, knitting, going to the gym, yard work, volunteering in the community, and keeping up my home.
 
How would you spend a free Saturday?  I would go for a walk, have lunch with a friend, and then enjoy a good book or watching HGTV.
 
Sports team you cheer for:  KU basketball of course!
 
What's one thing you've done that might surprise people? I’m fairly predictable but people may be surprised that I’ve climbed a 14,000 ft peak in Colorado, and have done some white water rafting  in Colorado and Canada.  
 
What shakes you up? I’m scared of heights.
 
If you could be any fictional character, who would you be? I guess a combination of June Cleaver, Scarlett O’Hara and Audrey Hepburn, now what would that look like?
